2008 Tax Pledge Signer List

The 2008 list of legislative candidates who have signed the 2008 Taxpayer Protection Pledge or who have signed this list in past years is now available at Kansastaxpayers.com web site. The Kansas Taxpayers Network (KTN) is working with other taxpayer organizations to provide the opportunity to hold state legislative candidates responsible for this pledge not to raise Kansas taxes. KTN has been providing this pledge for candidates since 1994.

Kansas Taxpayers Network is working with Americans for Tax Reform, a national taxpayers' group, that has posted at its web site: atr.org a list of tax pledge signers from all 50 states. KTN's list includes the names on ATR's list. There are 53 candidates on this year's list. Among the 53 are a large number of incumbent legislators (see list).

"The pledge is an important tool to help voters separate out the candidates who will make a firm promise to taxpayers and voters in their district from candidates who can not. When voters combine the pledge signers with legislative vote scores at KTN's web site, they can get an excellent picture of the legislators who are really working to help Kansas taxpayers," said Karl Peterjohn, Executive Director for Kansas Taxpayers Network.
